Sinus Lift

  • The procedure can be bone in one sitting in most cases. It would take from an hour and a half to two hours approximately. Usually done parallel to other procedures such as dental implants surgery and bone grafting.
  • This would depend on what other diagnosis, injuries or diseases you might have previously. Some medications would have to be taken into consideration, please advise us of any and all you may have taken in the past or present.
  • Rinse you mouth with Oddent the day after the implant surgery. This medication would be purchased here at Prisma Dental.
  • Take pain medications and antibiotics as instructed by the doctors here at Prisma Dental.
  • If you have prosthesis in the implants, please do not remove it during the first day and first night. On the second day, you can remove the prosthesis just to clean and rinse it. Immediately after you would need to put it back.
  • Do not pull your cheek to check; as this can cause the stitches to open.
  • Do not stand in the sun for at least a week after surgery.
  • If you had a sinus lift, do not blow your nose for at least a week after the surgery.
  • Do not exercise or swim for a week after surgery.
  • The second day after the procedure you may experience additional swelling, this is normal and part of the healing process.

Bone Augmentation

  • It is a procedure that involves adding bone or synthetic bone to the jaw in order to be able to place dental implants. If a person does not have enough bone where a tooth has been extracted or has been lost, a dental implant cannot be placed as it is possible it will not hold in the jaw, hence the bone graft placement.
